No. All of the Park & Ride sites around Cambridge are outside the Sustainable Travel Zone charging area under proposals published by the Greater Cambridge Partnership. This means that anyone driving to Cambridge will not have to pay a charge to park there. You can then choose to walk, cycle or get a £1 bus to anywhere in the city.
The GCP is proposing to improve walking and cycling links to Park & Ride sites, so that they can more easily be accessed by cycle and on foot for onward connections by bus. It is also proposing more electric vehicle charging points.
The Sustainable Travel Zone proposals are part of the GCP’s City Access project. Some of the GCP’s other transport schemes include plans to add more than 10,000 extra Park & Ride spaces.
