What are the next steps for the Sustainable Travel Zone proposals?

PLEASE NOTE: some details are still uncertain and the following timeline includes some assumptions based on publicly-available information. It will be updated as more information becomes available.

The consultation on the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP)’s Making Connections proposals, which include a Sustainable Travel Zone for Cambridge, closed on 23 December 2022.

The GCP is now analysing the feedback it received and has said it will produce a final report on the proposals, together with recommendations of next steps, to be presented to the GCP Executive Board in June. The GCP Executive Board will then make a recommendation to Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridgeshire’s County Councillors will have the final say on what scheme (if any) is taken forwards.

Some details are still uncertain, however a possible timeline for the decision-making process is below. We will update this as more information becomes available.
